ServicesWhat To ExpectDuring our time at our weekly worship gatherings, everything is designed to help us focus on and celebrate Jesus Christ. Here are a few things you can expect during our Worship Service: Worship Service on Sunday is at 10:15 am. Dress Here at First Baptist Church we are casual and comfortable. What someone wears is not that important to us. If a suit and tie is your style, feel free to wear it. If a more casual feel is your style, that's great too. We want you to be comfortable. Singing During the service, our worship team will lead us in a number of songs. As we sing our focus is not ourselves or the people around us, but celebrating Jesus and honoring and praising Him. So no matter what kind of voice you have, sing out with all of your heart. Teaching At First Baptist, we believe that the Bible is God's gift to us to show us who He is and what He's done for us. Every week, Pastor Clayton Griggs teaches straight from the Bible in a way that is helpful and challenging. If you don't have a copy of the Bible with you, we have some in the pew rack in front of you - feel free to use one of ours. If you don't own your own Bible, please take one of ours home as our gift to you. Prayer One of the greatest privileges we have as followers of Jesus is being able pray with boldness and confidence. We'll pray together throughout our time this morning. Also, if you would like to have someone pray for you this morning, some of our staff and Elders will be available during the response time after the message and would be glad to pray with and for you. You can also make us aware of your prayer request by filling out the "Prayer Request" form in the worship guide and placing it in the offering plate when it is passed. You can also submit a prayer request at prayer@fbcsnyder.org. Worship Boxes Children are a gift from God and we value their presence and participation in worship. In the worship center you will find plastic colored boxes called "My Worship Box." These boxes are designed for preschoolers and elementary aged children. We invite our children to open the boxes during the teaching portion of the service and engage the activity that goes along with the message. You might be surprised how much children are really listening. Communion Communion is something that Jesus began the night before he died as a way for his followers to remember and participate in his death on the cross. At First Baptist, we celebrate communion together periodically throughout the year. FBC welcomes all Christians who actively trust Jesus for salvation, who are willing to turn away from their sin to receive communion with us. Giving If you are our guest on a Sunday morning, please do not feel obligated to give anything financially - we just ask that you place your information, found in the worship guide, in the offering as your gift to us. |
